Out to sea

Cruise Day 1
IMG_0470When you board a cruise ship at your embarkation port, you go through airport-level security. Maybe not post-9/11 airport security, but at least pre-9/11. You don’t have to take off your shoes but you do have to go through lines, metal detectors, baggage x-rays. All that stuff. To me, it seemed kind of pointless. Hypothetically, if I were to determined to get something on that wasn’t supposed to be on board. Hypothetically, I’d board the ship in L.A. “clean”, then have someone meet me in San Diego with the illicit item or items. When you re-board after being off the ship in port, the screening is cursory, if anything at all. I’m just sayin’. Hypothetically.

One thing that is pretty cool is the fact that I’m at least 10 miles out to sea and am able to access the internet. And it costs less than most hotel internet plans.
