Escape the Can this Thanksgiving

No more jellied, can shaped condiments! This Thanksgiving, make your own cranberry sauce!

12 of 12: November

I missed the October 12 of 12, which is unfortunate because I traveled to Wisconsin that day. Taking the redeye seemed like a good idea, but then it got the better of me and I didn’t take many pictures at all. Here then is my 2nd 12 for November:

6:06 am

6:06 am - Up early for the bi-annual pyro seminar required at Universal in order to keep working pyro shows. Not that I’ve been loading pyro at all lately, but that’s a long story.

Thrilled to be awake

6:19 am - Obviously thrilled to be awake and looking my best…

Dormant Waterworld

8:26 am - Waterworld is still quiet backstage. That will change soon as they start blowing things up.

Pyro Handbook

10:38 am - The book learnin’ is in progress. I’ve probably been through a dozen of these seminars and the book hasn’t changed yet.

Devil in the Flames

12:06 pm - Ok, this is where the day really got creepy. During fire extinguisher training I captured the face of the devil in the flames. Top right of the flames,The Dark Lord’s face is in profile, horns and all. Proof that the apocalypse will begin at Universal Studios Hollywood. It may have already begun.

Fueling up

12:35 pm - Ran errands at lunch, which required a refueling.

Who needs the...

2:31 pm - Checked out the new Kwik-E-Mart next to where the Simpsons ride is going to be. This one is nowhere near as cool as the 7-11 they converted a few months ago.

Ciabatta

4:30 pm - Stopped at Trader Joe’s to pick up bread for dinner.

Laundry

4:46 pm - A few loads of laundry.

Veggie Black Bean Chili - before

5:44 pm - Vegetarian Black Bean Chili, before

Veggie Black Bean Chili - after

6:04 pm - Vegetarian Black Bean Chili, after

Cubing

8:42 pm - I’m WAY behind on my video blogs (the ones I watch, we’re not even going to talk about MY video blog right now), so I did some mindless cubin’ while watching.

Support the WGA Strike

I can’t explain it any better than this. And when the networks start pumping out crap reality television to fill in for the scripted shows that aren’t being written…DON’T watch it!
